Job Search Success: Essex Apprenticeship Hub
Practical, no nonsense help for anyone starting, or restarting, their job search
Not sure where to even begin with job hunting? The Essex Apprenticeship Hub is running a free online session to help you build a search that actually gets results.
The job market can feel overwhelming when you’re just starting out, with countless job boards, mixed advice and no clear sense of where to focus your energy. This session strips it right back to basics and gives you a proper plan to work from. We’ll walk through where to actually find opportunities beyond the obvious job boards, how to work out which roles are genuinely the right fit for your skills and interests, and how to put together a search plan you can stick to, rather than something that fizzles out after a week of enthusiasm.
We’ll also get into the practical detail that makes the real difference: tailoring your CV and applications for each individual role rather than sending out the same version everywhere, and understanding what employers are actually looking for behind the job description. You’ll come away with small, specific changes you can make immediately that noticeably improve your chances of getting a response.
Alongside the practical tips, we’ll cover how to stay motivated and organised during a job search that might take longer than you’d like, and how to make sense of rejection without letting it knock your confidence.
Stick around for the live Q&A. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been searching for a while and want a fresh perspective, this session is for you.
What’s covered: We’ll kick off with a welcome and introductions, then set the scene with an honest look at today’s job market. From there we’ll cover where to actually find job opportunities and how to identify the roles that are the right fit for you, before helping you put together a job search plan you can stick to. We’ll then move onto tailoring your CV and applications for each role, and what employers are really looking for when they read them. To wrap up, we’ll share our top tips for successful job searching, point you towards useful next steps and resources, and leave plenty of time for a live Q&A.
