Struggling to get your CV noticed? The Essex Apprenticeship Hub’s free online session will show you exactly what to include, and what to leave out.

A strong CV isn’t about cramming in everything you’ve ever done, it’s about showing the right things in the right way so an employer can see your potential in seconds. This session covers what actually belongs on a CV at this stage of your journey, how to present limited work experience in a way that still stands out, and how to tailor your CV for different roles rather than sending the same generic version everywhere. We’ll also look at how to write a personal statement that sounds like you, rather than something copied from a template online.

Beyond the CV itself, we’ll walk through completing job and apprenticeship applications more broadly, including the common mistakes that get otherwise strong applications overlooked, and what employers are genuinely scanning for in the first thirty seconds of reading. You’ll pick up simple, practical tweaks that help your application stand out from a crowded pile without needing to start from scratch.

We’ll leave plenty of time for questions, so come along with your CV queries, no matter how small or specific they feel. This is a judgement free space to get real answers.

What’s covered: We’ll start with a welcome and introductions, then explain why your CV matters so much in the first place.
