(Bury St Edmunds) – Field Support Technician Apprentice

  • Company: BT
  • Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
  • Closing Date: 01-02-2023

Description

Millions of people rely on BT every day to help them live their lives, power their businesses, and keep their public services running. They connect friends to family, clients to colleagues, people to possibilities. They keep the wheels of business spinning, and the emergency services responding. And they use the power of technology to help solve big challenges, like climate change and cyber security.

About this role:
As a Field Support Technician, you will be working in the Field day-to-day and have direct exposure to BT customers. Working on customer sites every day means you’ll need to be prepared to travel around, but that’s part of the fun! You get to see their technology being used in lots of different, innovative ways, and you get to be part of it. You will attend customer sites to help with installations where engineering support is required to set-up, install, and carry out non-complex and simple repairs.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, but that doesn’t mean you have to be super technical – they’ll give you all the training you need to get you up and running to progress your career within the Field and beyond.  Behaviour is more important to BT, so if you have a proactive attitude and you love having great conversations, apply today!

Entry Requirements:
You’ll need to achieve five GCSE’s at grades 4-9 (a C or above), including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted.
Please also note that this a field role and will require you to travel in your van. As a result, you’ll need to hold a full manual driving licence with no more than six points. You’re more than welcome to apply even if you do not hold a licence right now, but you’ll need to make sure you have passed your test no later than one month before your start date. If you don’t hold a full licence for manual cars before you are due to start, we may have to withdraw any offer made to you.
