This four-year programme brings learning and earning together. What to Expect

Blending academic and technical skills tuition with work-based learning, this programme will provide training on a variety of assets, from the latest technology to traditional kit, providing you with a varied and interesting career. You’ll have the opportunity to focus on a trade and become an Overhead Linesperson or a Fitter.

Health and Safety is our number one priority; from day one you’ll be taught the fundamentals enabling you to keep yourself and your colleagues safe. You’ll be introduced to your chosen trade, all within the safety of our first-class training centres. During your training, you’ll develop your technical knowledge and hands-on skills. Within your first year, you’ll be out in your local district being mentored by our experienced Craftspeople. And on completion of your programme, you’ll join them as you continue your career as a Craftsperson.

As part of our 2022 campaign we’re looking for Overhead Linespersons and Fitters to join us in September in:

  • Central and Southern Scotland, Merseyside, Wirral, Cheshire, Mid and North Wales.

If you live in Scotland, you’ll have or expect to achieve, three National 5s (or equivalent) in English, Maths and a STEM related subject (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

If you live in England or Wales, you’ll have or expect to achieve, three GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C / 4-9 in English, Maths and a STEM related subject (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Alternatively, we’ll consider functional skills at level 2 in English and Maths.
