Digital Communities Manager Apprentice – Professional Online Networks Advisor

  • Company: Historic England
  • Location: Swindon
  • Closing Date: 10-07-2022

Description

We are the public body that looks after England`s historic environment. We champion historic places to help people understand, value and care for them. We have an unrivalled opportunity for an individual who shares our passion for how professional networks can improve the way in which historic places are looked after.

You will complete a Digital Communities Manager Level 4 apprenticeship with us, over the course of 18 months.

What experience will you gain?

You will complete your apprenticeship through a combination of real work-based learning based from our Swindon office (with options for hybrid working where you mix work from home with work in the office) and through online tuition with our approved training provider, JGA Training. Your work-based learning will take 80% of your time, meaning you will gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful in your apprenticeship while being involved in some fascinating and meaningful projects, based within our Sector Resilience and Skills Team.

You will assist the Sector Resilience and Skills team to share advice, guidance and expert `how-to` knowledge for people working in heritage jobs. Under the supervision and guidance of your manager you will learn to manage and run successful online networks and communities for specialist and professional audiences. As you progress through your apprenticeship, you will support the work of colleagues providing direct advice and recommendations about how online communities can be used to improve sharing of knowledge in the heritage sector with a wide range of audiences.

Your work will help contribute to the management of England`s unique historic environment, helping to ensure that the knowledge and specialist advice needed to keep places special is shared within the sector.

What activities will you be involved in as our Apprentice?

The main duties and areas of responsibility are listed below. This is an outline description; it is not a complete list and may change from time to time depending on the needs of the organisation. You will learn from experienced colleagues who will support you to gradually take on the following responsibilities through the duration of your apprenticeship
