With distribution networks designed for predictable, stable demand, it’s vital they upgrade their network to create the flexibility required to cope with the extensive changes to electricity demand, generation, and consumer behaviour. Through technology and innovation, they will enable a consumer-led revolution in the use and operation of their system. It will undergo the biggest changes to its design and operation for over half a century; and you can be part of it.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Logistics Apprentice, you’ll be responsible for receiving materials into their warehouses. You’ll need to learn to drive and operate a forklift truck safely and competently – but don’t worry, They’ll provide and pay for your training. You’ll be responsible for checking the condition of the stock when it arrives in and departs from their distribution centre, and you’ll make sure that their stock management system is kept updated – because without this their business cannot function. They’re a 24/7, 365 days a year business and it’s vital that they ALWAYS have the materials required to operate and maintain their network. So, your role in scrutinising the condition of stock and preparing materials for despatch to local depot is essential in helping them deliver a reliable service to their customers.
Entry Requirements:
For both locations you’ll have National 4s or GCSEs at a minimum of D / 3 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
