Higher Apprentice Maritime Services – Electrical/ Electronics Radar Engineer

  • Company: BAE Systems
  • Location: Multiple Locations
  • Closing Date: 28-02-2022

Description

We want your first steps to be as exciting as the rest of your career at BAE Systems. With a wide range of apprenticeships across the business, we’re confident you’ll find an opportunity that will inspire you.

Apprentices are our future, so we invest in them. Whether you choose an engineering or a business apprenticeship you’ll be guaranteed a competitive salary; qualifications; hands-on training; and work where you can make a real difference, where it counts. Our Higher Apprenticeships lead to qualifications equivalent to HND or Foundation Degree and are available in a full range of engineering, business and finance functions.

Whatever your skills and ambitions and wherever in the UK you live, if you bring your commitment and energy, you’ll be able to make a difference here doing work that really matters.

Your Learning and Development

We don’t expect you to know everything about your chosen area of work and we don’t expect you to have experience in all the tasks you’ll be doing. In fact, the whole purpose of an apprenticeship is to learn and experience new challenges. We’re here to help you do that, supported by on-the-job training delivered by experienced professionals, off-the-job training in dedicated training facilities, and real work placements within the business. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with other apprentices from all parts of the business. Around 95% of our apprentices stay with us and go on to have successful careers.

What you’ll need

We’re looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, have a desire to learn and want their hard work to make a difference. To join you’ll need to have five GCSEs or National 5 + Highers (or equivalent) including Maths, English and a Science for engineering roles. You will also need a certain number of UCAS points – the number required varies depending on the Apprenticeship. You will find specific details on entry requirements within each role type.

How to apply

We ask all candidates to apply online using our application form to ensure our selection process is fair and consistent. Following your online application you will be invited to undertake an initial online assessment. Once all roles have closed in February, if successful you’ll be invited to attend an interview.
