In our ‘Construct’ engine, you’ll be at the forefront of bringing projects to life. Primarily site-based, this engine focuses on the hands-on delivery of complex and innovative construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. If you enjoy working in a practical environment where your efforts lead to visible results, Construct is the place for you. If you prefer advising and partnering with clients to shape the strategic direction and management of our projects, consider exploring roles in our ‘Consult’ engine, which focuses on driving projects from concept through to completion.
What you’ll do
In MEP (Construction) some of your main responsibilities will include:
  • Being an integral part of the project delivery team specialising in technical services.
  • Developing and Implementing MEP strategies on a project from pre-construction to post completion.
  • Actively engaging with a variety of stakeholders including clients, local communities, team members and suppliers.
  • Find solutions to any problems that arise in the construction phase.
  • Assisting in procurement of the integral parts and packages associated with building services.
  • Advising the design teams on co-ordination and pre-fabrication of services within building design.
  • Assisting in planning and programming building services within the construction programme
  • Management of sub-contractors/ trades
  • Management of health & safety on site
  • Assisting with the production of monthly project audits and reports
  • Delivering building service engineering for a range of different buildings and clients
  • Commissioning management and witnessing
  • Testing integrated systems including building control sign off
  • Assist in gaining practical completion
  • Managing project close out and the defect period.
You will also work towards completing a Level 4 Building Services Engineering Senior Technician apprenticeship, where you’ll achieve a HNC in Building Services Engineering. We’ll also support you in gaining professional membership of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).

About you
  • A minimum of 96 UCAS points
  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications)
Given the nature of our work, flexibility is key. Our projects and clients are based in various locations, so you should be prepared to travel frequently to different project sites or Mace offices. A positive and adaptable approach to travel is therefore essential, as it may be a regular part of your role. To support this, Mace offers travel expense reimbursements for business travel, including mileage, public transport fares, and, where necessary, accommodation.
