Description

Joining Telford Homes as a Trainee in the Pre-Construction department will enable you to become an effective leader of the future. You will participate in a structured training program on our tailored trainee scheme over five or two years as a graduate or on a degree apprenticeship programme.

You will develop your skills, knowledge, and behaviour so you are set up to step into the role of Pre-Construction Technical Assistant at the end of your training scheme – you will be encouraged to gain a relevant industry accreditation, and we will support your efforts to do so. You will spend time working in other areas of the business to give you an understanding of how our business works as well as receiving extensive on the job training.

The duration of your scheme will depend on your prior experience and whether you have already achieved a Construction related degree, and this programme can also be studied as a part-time degree apprenticeship programme supported by Telford Homes.

What to expect on a day-to-day basis

Progress through the Trainee Task List, developing understanding of the key elements of the job and attend relevant college course and pass with acceptable grades.

Develop an understanding of UK Building Regulations and how to apply these to live projects. Develop an understanding of the different design inputs and their roles in producing planning applications (eg. Architect, structural engineer, mechanical & electrical engineer etc)

Assist in reviewing design information and documenting comments ands attend regular design team meetings and assist in taking minutes for issue to the design team. You will assist in reviewing planning application information against Telford Homes design standards.

Support team members and assist them with obtaining and collating information and contribute to project documents such as risk registers, design trackers and monthly reporting. Liaise with consultants to obtain time and cost for works such as surveys.

Requirements: To have attained at least a level 3 (or equivalent) qualification during education, or a construction related degree for a graduate role
