The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is the UK’s leading planning body for spatial, sustainable, and inclusive planning and is the largest planning institute in Europe, with over 27,000 members. Planners play a key role in shaping the society we live in. Our members have a significant influence over health, the environment, the economy, safer streets, and housing just to mention a few.

If you’re interested in knowing more about the planning profession or already know a lot, RTPI’s 5-day in-person Work Experience Programme may be for you! Throughout the first few weeks of July, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a focused work experience opportunity with an organisation local to you.

You’ll be able to meet with different departments within these organisations and learn all about how planning has a massive impact in the communities we live in. You’ll get to learn about different factors that all affect Town Planning including environmental, construction, real estate, design, and many others!
