Description

Joining Telford Homes as a Trainee in the Construction department will enable you to become an effective leader of the future. You will participate in a structured training program on our tailored trainee scheme over five or two years as a graduate or on a degree apprenticeship programme.

You will develop your skills, knowledge, and behavior so you are set up to step into the role of Assistant Site Manager at the end of your training scheme – you will be encouraged to gain a relevant industry accreditation, and we will support your efforts to do so.

You will spend time working in other areas of the business to give you an understanding of how our business works as well as receiving extensive on the job training. The duration of your scheme will depend on your prior experience and whether you have already achieved a Construction related degree, and this programme can also be studied as a part-time degree apprenticeship programme supported by Telford Homes.

What to expect on a day-to-day basis

Progress through the Trainee Task List, developing understanding of the key elements of the job.

 

To progress through the Trainee programme successfully and to a high standard and attend relevant college course and pass with acceptable grades.

Build personal knowledge of Telford Homes business and the wider construction industry and assist with the day to day health & safety, housekeeping and presentation for areas of responsibility and for reporting issues and for checking and approval of Risk Assessment Method Statements

You will be expected to Adhere to programmes issued by the Site Manager for area of control and manage subcontractors in line with Scope of Works and provide feedback for future projects.

You will Assist with ensuring drawing specification and contract documents are adhered to, make sure the highest standards of quality and workmanship are maintained, assist the site team in all aspects of subcontractor management, assist with monitoring QA procedures for works under your responsibility and assist in ensuring that appropriate records are maintained throughout the project period and are suitably registered for archive purposes.

Requirements: To have attained at least a level 3 (or equivalent) qualification during education, or a construction related degree for a graduate role
