Property Needs You – Careers in the built environment
Monday 1st Mar 2021
Property Needs You is a collaboration of 12 of the UK’s largest Real Estate companies, our aim is to raise awareness of the different careers available in property and the built environment and offer people the chance to understand more about the industry through work experience and internships.
When you talk about a career in the built environment many people will think of estate agency or construction work, these jobs make up a small part of the story. Real Estate is a huge and varied sector with so much more to offer. The sector influences every part of our life, from the hospitals were born in, the houses we live in, the schools and universities we are educated in, the shops and warehouses that supply the goods we need and want to the parks and countryside we spend our leisure time in and so much more. Property professionals work to improve our built and natural environment and have an influence on the spaces and places that shape our day to day existence.
Property has a wide range of career paths so there is something to suit all personalities, skill sets and interests, such as the following:
Town Planner | Sustainability Consultant | Asset Manager |
Building Surveyor | Planning/Development office | Property Manager |
Rural Surveyor | Land Manager | Financial Analyst |
Commercial Surveyor | Planning Consultant | Environmental Planner |
Researcher | Quantity Surveyor | Project Manager |
