James Piper – BDO

Throughout my application journey, I had to go through several application processes to secure my place in various programs. Pathway CTM assisted me in both identifying programs to apply for as well as helping me understand what the processes would entail. After attending a Pathway event I was keen to apply to an insight week at KPMG this event provided me with the opportunity to learn more about the industry and network with professionals. This was the first time I considered a career in accounting could be for me , after attending more Pathway events, I found BDO offered a similar longer program called the summer school. To secure my place in BDO’s Summer School program, I had to go through a rigorous application process, which included interviews and online assessments. Following this I was invited to interview for the apprenticeship program to study for the ACA, I accepted this position and now work in Financial Services Audit at BDO. Pathway opened my eyes to a world of different applications and programs available that I otherwise may have struggled to find along side their expert and professional advice they helped me stand out in applications!
