Description

Millions of people rely on BT every day to help them live their lives, power their businesses, and keep their public services running. They connect friends to family, clients to colleagues, people to possibilities, keep the wheels of business spinning, and the emergency services responding. And they use the power of technology to help solve big challenges, like climate change and cyber security.

You’ll join BT’s expert team of experienced Security Professionals, so you can learn directly from the best. You’ll help to provide technical support on complex network security and cyber security deployments for their UK secure contracts. Working across a variety of different platforms and technologies, including Data Centre Servers, Networking and Cloud based tools, you’ll develop a wide range of skills and experience.

This role is vital in delivering a best-in-class customer service experience to all of our clients. The security team makes sure appropriate actions are taken to reduce the risk of incidents and maintain services, to avoid any impact to the customer’s set up.

About the apprenticeship you’ll study for:
This apprenticeship will last 18 months and 20% of your working hours will be dedicated to studying. At the end of your hard work, you will gain a level 3 qualification as a Cyber Security Technician. As an apprentice, you will study for a nationally recognised qualification as you gain hands on experience with the latest security technologies available in our industry to prepare you for a career in the Cyber Security sector. The Cyber Security Apprenticeship Programme will be based at our Sheffield and Hatfield offices and there will be a requirement to come to the office daily.

Entry Requirements:
You’ll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) two A-Levels with a minimum of CC grades. You’ll also need a minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above) including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted, but we will be unable to accept candidates that have already achieved a level 3 qualification in cyber security.
