With distribution networks designed for predictable, stable demand, it’s vital they upgrade their network to create the flexibility required to cope with the extensive changes to electricity demand, generation, and consumer behaviour. Through technology and innovation, they will enable a consumer-led revolution in the use and operation of their system. It will undergo the biggest changes to its design and operation for over half a century; and you can be part of it.

What you’ll be doing:
As a QS Graduate Apprentice, you’ll be a key member of the team, playing a vital role assisting in the delivery of fundamental QS activities that will support your studies and develop your experience. You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in multiple tasks such as assessing monthly contractor measures (payment applications), commercial evaluations of project variations and contact and tender reviews. You’ll enhance your stakeholder engagement skills during commercial meetings with a wide variety of stakeholders. Whatever you’re doing, you’ll be helping them build a more resilient and sustainable network for their customers, communities and stakeholders.

Throughout your course you’ll see how your studies relate to significant project milestones, building the foundations of your career as a QS. And at the end of the programme, you’ll be ready to become a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, with a starting salary of £37,381.

Entry Requirements:
Four Highers at grades A-C (or equivalent), with two of those at a minimum of a B. You’ll also need to have National 5 (or equivalent) in English and Maths. You’ll also need a driving licence
